We had a wonderful experience. We showed up as scheduled (we were the first ride of the day). The owner was a wonderful host. We rode on two horses - Rocky and Winnie. We booked an hour trail ride - which took us up the mountain to a very nice vantage point where you can see all of Salmon Arm. The ride continued through a forest, and we crossed a stream. We then returned along the same trail. Overall, we really enjoyed the ride - nice horses - and beautiful views. The owner shared a number of stories . Based on our experience, I would be happy to schedule a future trail ride.
Went there with my 11 year old son, booked online were from Vancouver. Showed up 20 min early as there was a group just ending their ride. "She" The older guied asked us to wait as she needed to water her horses, we said yes of course. She stated she had been expecting us. We were excited and smiled as we were the first two there. Then a family of four showed up then two women. She got us to fill out forms, then as she was counting horses "she" said to my son and myself why didn't we tell her we were going to ride. I told her we did as we were the first two there, she said we didn't. We ended up leaving my poor son was very disappointed and felt hurt, she was very rude and very unorganized for sure and to make like she never saw us and to be like that to a child was pretty sad. I will never ever go back there, she asked if we could rebook tomorrow at 11 am I said our check out was at 11 and she rudely said well you can check out earlier. I would not recommend going to High Country Trail Rides.
My daughter and I had a great adventure on the trail and the host was excellent. Snowflakes whine about everything. This was a great time and I will be returning with younger daughters when they are old enough.
My family had an amazing trail ride. The guide (and owner I believe) was incredibly good with my kids, one was a reluctant and grumpy rider and the other was overly excited and extremely chatty. She was wonderful with both of them and it allowed us adults to just enjoy the experience. We left a little later than our appointment time but it did not result in the ride being rushed at all. Great family activity.
I went here with my dad and there was only 1 lady working there and she was really mean. The girl on the phone quickly said why don't we change your time when she doesn't even know who we are.The lady that was on another ride came 10-20 minutes late. They say come 20 minutes early but no ones there how are we supposed to say we are here when the lady on the phone says lets change the time and the lady on a another ride is 10-20 minutes late? Their work is really poor and I really don't recommend this to large or even small families it's a waist of your time and your vacation gets ruined. Leaves sad faces and sometimes even crying. If this plan gets ruined then go to the water park in Salmon Arm because that's what we did and we had lots more fun. Please do not go there or else it will be a waist of your time. And there was another mom with a girl and they got upset too. The lady that was 10, 20 minutes late said she had to saddle 10 horses for the people that booked their trail on phone. They don't care about the people who booked it online. They also don't have time to tell them that they can't do their ride. This really disappoints me and shouldn't be real.
