It is a beautiful little spot. Lot 21 is the best if you have little kids. Downside. Is they charge $5/ person and $6/ vehicle just for someone to visit. And the showers are terrible. I did not let my 5yr old and 2yr old shower. You put in a quarter and the shower gets super hot. Then you have to slowly turn on the cold water to adjust to the right temp. All this takes 1 min and 1 quarter only gives you 2 min. And can only deposit 3 quarters at a time. There is nothing counting down the time. Just bam cold water. Then you have to turn the water off and go again. We found it you turn on the cold first. Then put in the quarter...no hot water comes out.
Great little campground hidden away but still close to Canoe Beach, Salmon Arm and tons of other local outdoor activities. Friendly staff who even stayed open late when there was a highway accident. Nice and varied campsites, many right beside a trickling creek perfect for evening ambiance. Only downside is the nearby TransCanada highway with road noise that seems to be amplified because of the little valley youre in. Often woke us up at night. Otherwise a great option for a 2-3 night stay in the area.
Nice shady camp sites near the creek. Lots of big trees. 10 degrees cooler at this camp site than up in town. No visitors rule when full. Dog friendly. Short drive or bike to Canoe beach. Short drive to Salmon Arm. Would stay again.
Lovely campground just off the highway. We stayed for 2 nights and found the staff very helpful. At first when you turn in you are wondering where the heck your camping as there is a trailer court with the main building. You than will get directed through it a little ways and find a key gate that is automatic. Loved this security feature as I felt our camper was well guarded. There is a rather steep hill once you get through the gate with a sharp turn. That may intimidate you if your pulling anything bigger than 30ft. The group camping looked lovely there is a bridge to get across so I am not sure if it can fit a trailer across it. The stream that runs through it give it a storybook like feel with the tall trees around. Apparently it keeps alot of salmon when they spawn. So that was a cool fact. The facility was well kept and for showers. However the water was way too tricky... and I wish there would of been a family bathroom. All in all such a nice campground we will be back.
I was all set to have a great stay at this campground and the staff initially seemed very helpful and welcoming. However, it seems that the welcoming attitude and 'community spirit' of the campsite had its limits. While we were there for a race, we invited some friends (all over 30 with children - no loud music or crazy parties here) back to the site for a quick bbq, we missed checking them in (our bad), but then we were told that we would be charged for every guest and every INFANT child, totaling $50!!!! (that was on top of the $37 per night we already paid) We were told it was because they would be using the facilities, which costs. It would have been cheaper for us to rent another site for the night. When I reread through our contract, there were no prices per guest, seems they can charge whatever they like...nice. Our guests only stayed an hour and a half and only 2 of them used any facilities!! Shockingly, the babies didn't use any of the facilities! Not that the facilities are anything to write home about. The showers are coin operated and you spend half your change waiting for the shower to 'warm up'. They are pretty run down but you are too busy rushing through your shower to notice. And our $37 per night site? Basically on top of the other campers right beside us, divided by a log. No campfire pit at our site, "but the community one is right across". Grounds were nice, but unfortunately that was outweighed by the aggressive hostile reaction we received when trying to socialize with outside friends on the site that we paid for. Won't be going back and we will be telling our large community of mountain biking friends about our terrible experience.
