Not as bad as other reviews say, the beach is nice with a beautiful view. The sites are very small, over all not bad. Lots of families so the kids had a blast
Spaces are way too small and cramped. Sites are dirt, not gravel or grass. The place needs some TCL. Instead of having a sign down to the beach saying - use stairs with caution - how about replacing the stairs. Hope you like trains as they go by every 20-40 minutes. Not a place we would stay again or recommend.
Excellent busy campground. Everything from pup tents to colossal class a motorhomes. The train is very close to the campground and is very noisy, runs 24 hours. I didn't even notice it after a little while because this place is so beautiful. Playgrounds and washrooms located strategically around the park. Small cafe for burgers and ice cream. There are a few things in the office for sale if you forgot something. Make sure you know where you are going because there are some dead ends that are very tight with cars on one side and boat trailers on the other. Great beach for swimming, with boat rentals.
Spent a fun long weekend camping with our family here. The views of the lake are beautiful. There dog beach is even nicer than the regular beach. It's a bit of a walk part all the permanent campers, but worth it. The campground is pretty crowded but worked well for our large group. Not sure I'd stay here on my own. Many seasonal campers have all the best spots and it can tend to look a little trashy. The trains go by constantly and so close you feel the ground shake and all conversation stop until they pass.Staff was very friendly and helpful. Washrooms always seemed dirty but it was a very busy weekend so it was understandable. Showers were nice and hot and the stalls were clean.
If I could give 0 stars I would. I was told over the phone that the site could fit multiple tents if needed. Spent 180.00 on ONE site on the beach for tonight and tomorrow, get to the site and it's so crammed and way to small we couldn't even get a single tent on the site. We called from Alberta because we wanted to spend the birthday weekend in BC near friends and family. We go to address the issue and the owner wouldn't even come downstairs. Long story short they ended up taking $40.00 and we moved to a way better campground. Wouldn't even consider coming back, thanks for almost ruining a great birthday weekend...pathetic.
